Located behind Portola Hotel & Spa, Monterey's first and only Silver LEED®-EB certified hotel, Peter B’s Brewpub has won Gold medal for its Russian Imperial Espresso Stout. Furthermore, Peter B’s Brewpub, led by Brewmaster Kevin Clark, picked up two Bronze medals for its Barrel Aged Stout and Whiskey Barrel Aged Stout.

Man Recovering After Being Shot in Watsonville

WATSONVILLE, Calif. - Watsonville Police are looking for a man responsible for shooting a 23-year-old Hispanic male just after 8 o'clock Tuesday night.

Police responded to a shots fired call near Brewington Avenue and Arbol Drive and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was stabilized and transported to a Bay Area Trauma Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was walking in the area when a vehicle drove by him and stopped. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple rounds towards the victim, striking him once. Police said he ran back to the vehicle and was seen leaving the area westbound on CrestviewDrive.

Central Coast Homeowners Fighting Cal Fire Prevention Fee

WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- New information on allegations that Cal Fire hid millions of taxpayer dollars, instead of depositing it into the state's general fund.

The allegations surfaced after an investigation by the Los Angeles Times. The Times claims Cal Fire hid $3.6 million from legal settlements, but the department denies any wrongdoing.

This all comes after some rural homeowners were forced to pay a fire prevention fee last year. Cal Fire said those hundreds of thousands of homeowners will still have to pay the $115 to $150 yearly fire prevention fee.

Attempted Homicide in Watsonville

On 01-29-13 at approximately 2016 hrs, Watsonville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Brewington Ave. and Arbol Dr. for the report of gun shots. The call was quickly updated advising one subject was down with a gunshot wound. Officers arrived to find a 23 year old Hispanic male suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel arrived and stabilized the victim. He was then transported to a Bay Area Trauma Center for his non-life threatening injury.

The investigation revealed that the victim was on the sidewalk in the area of Brewington Ave and Arbol Dr. A vehicle drove past his location then stopped. A suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim on foot. The suspects then fired a gun multiple times at the victim striking him once.
