Watsonville Stabbing Leaves One Dead, One Wounded | Crime

WATSONVILLE, Calif.-- Watsonville police responded to the report of a stabbing Saturday around 11:00 p.m.  It happened in the area of East Lake Avenue and Brennan Street.

Officers found one 21 year old man lying in the road unconscious with a stab wound in his stomach. He was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital were he died of his injuries.

Another man is in stable condition after he was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for a stab wound in his lower torso. Police determined both men had been together earlier that evening. The man in stable condition was uncooperative with the police investigation.

Police say the two assaults are related and possibly happened in the 500 block of Main Street. They have not released the names of the two men stabbed.

The incident is still under investigation, police believe it is gang related.
