20-Year-Old Man Stabbed To Death In Watsonville

 WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- Watsonville Police responded to a man stabbed to death on Lincoln Street Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Officers said a group of men got into a fight. The suspects started chasing the victim through city streets and into an apartment complex and parking lot. That's when police said the victim was stabbed, but they won't say how many times. The victim was identified Thursday night as 20-year-old Felipe Reyes of Watsonville.

Attempted Rape at Watsonville Motel

WATSONVILLE, Calif.-- Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rape a young woman at the Motel 6 on the 100 block of Silver Leaf Drive in Watsonville.

The victim says the suspect forced her into the laundry room where he pinned her against the wall and tried to attack her.  The girl's father came in and fought the suspect off, injuring his knee in the process.  The girl was not hurt.

Police continue to search for the suspect who is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man in his 30's.

Fatal Shooting at School on Friday Night

WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- Outside the portable classrooms at Watsonville High School Sunday, police tape and a shrine is all that's left today from Friday night's fatal shooting.

"It breaks my heart, this is a place where kids come, its their home away from home and nobody wants their home with that kind of memorial," said Elaine Legorreta, Watsonville High Principal. 

Legorreta said she the news of a shooting at her school devastated her.

"That was an important life that was lost there," said Legorreta.

Watsonville Police say 18-year old Marco Ortega was gunned down by several men in the parking lot next to the tennis courts Friday night.

Shots Fired on Rodriguez Street

On 02/06/13 at approximately 1346 hrs, officers were dispatched to the area of the 200 block of Rodriguez St regarding shots being fired in the area. When officers arrived they were not able to locate any victims that may have been shot. However they did locate a beige colored Suburban type vehicle with a flat tire. After inspecting the vehicle it was determined that the tire had a bullet hole in the tire causing the tire to flatten.

After canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses, it appeared that an altercation between two sets of groups ensued. One suspect with a gun was seen firing a handgun at the other group. He was described as Hispanic Male in his 20's, wearing a white tee-shirt and shorts. The gun was described as a black colored semi-automatic hand gun. Another subject involved was described as a Hispanic Male 18-20 years old wearing a tan shirt and shorts.

Police search for drivers who hit pedestrian

The search continues this morning for several drivers, accused of hitting a pedestrian then driving away just before rush hour monday morning!!

Police say a man standing on highway 129 in watsonville was hit-and-killed by oncoming traffic ...

One of the drivers who hit the victim stopped and called police.
