Roache Road Water Main Project Where is the project located?

The project will be taking place on Roache Road from Freedom Boulevard to 400 feet beyond Carey Avenue so expect some possible traffic delays.

When will the project be completed?

The project is expected to begin in early April and finish in early May.

What is being done?
  • Installation – one thousand seventy feet (1,070′) of new 6″ ductile iron water main.
  • New residential services.
  • New hydrants and system isolation valves.

Watsonville Teenager Stabbed, Beaten with Skateboard

WATSONVILLE, Calif- A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital with life threatening injuries after a group of "five to seven" guys stabbed and beat hi Wednesday afternoon. 

Police said that the victim was walking on Carr St at East Lake Ave around 3:45 p.m. when the suspects asked him his gang affiliation. Before the victim could answer, the suspects stabbed the victim several times, said police. The suspects took the victim's skateboard and hit the victim over the head with it and ran from the scene. 

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the Watsonville Police Department Investigation Division at 768-3350 or the Watsonville Police Tipline at 768-3544.

 

Highway 1 Gap Striping Between SALINAS ROAD AND WATSONVILLE REHAB PROJECTS

MONTEREY COUNTY – A ½ mile striping operation will take place in the “gap” area from just north of the Hwy. 1/Salinas Road Interchange (PM 101.5) to just south of the Monterey/Santa Cruz County Line (PM 102.0) where the Watsonville Rehab project begins, Caltrans officials announced today.

 

Striping will take place in both directions tomorrow Wednesday, Feb. 13 and Thursday, February 14. Traffic control consists of alternating lane closures.

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) will operate a Sunday schedule on Presidents Day, Monday, February 18, 2013. MST phone lines and customer service locations at the Salinas Transit Center and Bus Stop Shop in Monterey will remain open. Administration offices in Monterey and customer service at the Marina Transit Exchange will be closed, reopening Tuesday, February 19. The following MST bus lines will operate a Sunday schedule on Presidents Day:
